What's the deal with these lead times?
Given the specialized nature of the products that we sell, lead times of a few weeks are commonplace. However, as of late, we have seen an unfortunate setback in the supply chain for steel and raw materials combined with disruptions in shipping, combined with an unprecedented spike in demand throughout the industry. All of these factors combine to make some extraordinarily long wait times for items that stretch out over multiple months if they are able to give us a credible estimate at all.
What are you doing about it?
We are taking a number of actions to adapt to this new normal. In addition to stocking more inventory, we are upgrading our website to report real time on inventory status so that customers will know at the point of purchase whether an item has a predicted delivery time or not. Additionally, we are adding staff to allow for customers to receive more frequent updates on their shipping status.
